Ruki captured Gavin's personality brilliantly in a relaxed moment where he also remained alert and ready to rock.

Gavin, or Gav (or a few other names) is a cat of singular personality. He came to us via our friends who found him mauled and bruised on their doorstep. After their intervention, the previously feral Gav left hospital shaved with stitches and a certain attitude which he retains to this day.

He is a fierce and loyal character. He loves a fight almost as much as he loves a prawn and believes himself to be invincible.

Ruki conducted a wonderful consultation with us where we imparted all these details and more. Thus informing her approach to the painting and producing some fantastic sketches along the way which we also love.

The aspects that we discussed really come across in the painting. It shows the scars of his early days, he appears at once grumpy but content, details of his fur and physique are captured with whimsy.

Due to Ruki's attention to detail the painting has captured the spiky charm of the companion we love. You can see that you are potentially never far away from a nip with Gav.
